Zackery ‘Zack’ Brown

Zackery (Zack) Laprince Brown was born August 26, 1980 to Brenda L. Ridley of Monticello, and to the late Timothy Brown of Waycross.

Zachery dedicated his life to the Lord at a very young age and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. On July 2, 2025, Zack rededicated his life to the Lord and on July 3, 2025 he departed this life.

A celebration of life was held Thursday, July 10, at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Robert Tinsley as eulogist. Interment was at the Jackson Family Cemetery.

Zackery’s life was filled with many great accomplishments, he obtained his GED at the age of 20, and also by the age of 24 years old he got married. He and his wife completed Swift Trucking Academy (2006) and obtained their CDL licenses. During his life he gained additional life skills that helped him navigate life as a million plus mile safe driver; hauling specialized equipment across the United States. Zackery found peace on the open road, behind the wheel of his 18-wheeler, and with his family.

When Zackery walked into a room, you knew it. His overzealous energy, loud laugh, and larger-than-life presence could turn a quiet corner into a celebration. And beneath the wild stories and booming voice was a man with a tender heart — one that craved connection, redemption, and love. Zackery carried a spark within him — a restless energy, an unforgettable smile, and a deep desire to rise above and create something better for himself and those he loved.

Zackery leaves to cherish his beautiful memories to his devoted wife Meikle Banks-Brown; his son, MeShawn Banks-Brown; his daughter, Jamicah Banks-Brown, and his grandchildren Bryan, Jasoni, Winter, and Summer Banks. He is also survived by his mother Brenda Ridley, his brother Durrell Thomas, his grandmother Sara Ridley, and a host of nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Final arrangements entrusted to Smith and Sons Funeral Home, 932 Funderburg Drive, Monticello, Ga. 31064; 706-468-6625; www.smithandsonsfuneralhomemonticelloga.com
