Murray Cargile

Murray Cargile was born August 26, 1964 to the late Jim W. Cargile and Inez Cargile. He was the youngest of 11 children. He died July 7, 2025.

Mr. Cargile joined Crossroads C.M.E. Church at a young age. Murray graduated from Jasper County High School. He moved to Atlanta after graduating from high school. He enjoyed hanging out with friends who knew him as “M.C.” He also enjoyed listening to music and watching the game show Family Feud.

Murray was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Cargile and a brother Larry Cargile.

He leaves to cherish his memories, nine siblings: Jim Cargile of College Park, Joe Cargile (Dorothy) of Stone Mountain, Fred Cargile (Mary) of Macon, Randy Cargile and David Cargile of Monticello, Sallie Sands, Irene Norris and Arlene Cargile of Monticello, Linda Jeffries (Carl) of Detroit, MI, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

The family would like to give a special thank you to his caretaker, his older brother, Joe Cargile, the staff at Emory, and the Hospice team at Amicasa in Decatur.
