SHADY DALE RODEO
Shady Dale was alive with activity last weekend as the 41st annual Shady Dale Rodeo was held Friday and Saturday nights at the Rodeo Grounds, and the Round Up Festival all day Saturday at the park in Shady Dale. Some 7,000 spectators attended the rodeo where some 300 cowboys and cowgirls competed for prize money. At 3 p.m. Saturday, the parade made its way throught the streets of Shady Dale, with horses, cowboys, cowgirls, Shriners, and so much more. Rodeo events included Bareback Riding, Steer Wrestling, Tie-Down Calf Roping, Breakaway Roping, Saddle Bronc Riding, Barrel Racing, Team Roping, and Bull Riding. Rain delayed Saturday night’s start, but the evening turned out beautiful and the rodeo went on. See Thank You letter on page 4.
