Malcom Ruark represented Jasper County when he participated in the state 4-H BB match held at the Rock Eagle 4-H Center on Saturday, April 26 as a first year competitor.

He was accompanied by team coaches Tyler Hayles, Michael Lanier, and Jeff Stephens; 4-H team member Tori Hayles; and Malcom’s family members. His grandfather, Larry Champion, joined Malcom at the firing line to assist him.

The 4-H’ers had to shoot in the prone, standing, sitting, and kneeling positions at a distance of five meters, and take a safety exam. Malcom’s best score was in the prone position and was an 86. He’s to be commended for making a 96 on the safety test, which is his highest score to date this season.

Malcom is pictured with a large card that his coaches and teammates made him to wish him good luck at state. The card was presented to him on Saturday before the match. The team would like to recognize and thank Kim Gilliam for being our Jasper County 4-H BB team’s sponsor this year.
