Dorothy Jane Lopp Strother

Dorothy Jane Strother, age 82, of Shady Dale, passed away Monday, March 10, 2025 at her home in Shady Dale surrounded by her family.
Ms. Strother was a native of Hallowell, KS and has lived in Jasper County for the past 59 years. She retired as the Owner/Broker of Century 21 Heart Land Realty in 2005.
Mrs. Strother was preceded in death by her husband John B. Strother, Sr., parents George R. and Aretha V. Lopp of KS, and her brother George R. Lopp, Jr. of IA.
Her warmth and kindness touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit will continue to inspire those she leaves behind, as they strive to embody the love and selflessness she exemplified throughout her life.
Ms. Strother is survived by her children John B. Strother, Gretchen S. Pruett (Bill), Pamela S. Kimrey (Rick), and Stephanie S. Puckett (David); her grandchildren Summer Mae, Bailey, Wade, Rhett, Alan (Blaire), Thomas (Ashley), Chance, Autumn, Samuel and Montana, Jeff (Shannon), Tonya, Tracy (Chris); great-grandchildren Sundara Rose, Sofia Rain, Ava Claire, Everly Kate, Bryce, Braxton, Leslie, Ayden, Taryn and “on the way” Eloise Faith, Hunter, Jeffery, Jacob, Jessie, Tommy, Chase; her sister Annette Robinson (Gene) of Parson, KS, numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and countless friends.
Funeral services for Ms. Strother will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025 at Monticello First United Methodist Church in Monticello, with Rev. Ben Strength officiating. Interment will be held at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Shady Dale. Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
Serving as pall bearers are Wade Roberts, Rhett Roberts, Samuel Puckett, David Puckett, Thomas Pruett, and Alan Pruett. The honorary pall bearers are Bill Pruett, Hunter Pruett, Chance Kimrey, and Rick Kimrey. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Bizzy Bees Quilters. (Kathy Dailey at 678-428-7054)
