Bryan Keith Standifer
Bryan Keith Standifer, a long time City of Monticello civil servant, passed away last Sunday.
Bryan graduated from Jasper County Comprehensive High School in 1984. Upon finishing high school, he attended Georgia College in Milledgeville where he pledged Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
Bryan was employed with Bio-Lab in Conyers for many years until his retirement from the company. He was most recently employed with Takeda Pharmaceuticals in Social Circle.
Bryan served his community as a Monticello City Council member for 10 years and Mayor for another 10 years. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge #329; 32nd Degree, Shriners MASAB #11, and past Grand Marshall.
His funeral services will be held Sunday, March 16 at St. James A.M.E. Church at 2 p.m. with burial to follow at Smith Thomas Cemetery located at 2052 Goolsby Road. Smith & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Bryan was born July 26, 1965 to the late Charles Edgar Standifer and Mary Delois Jackson Standifer.
Bryan married his best friend and love of his life Jeanette Maxine Whitlock Standifer on June 19, 1993. To this union three children were born. Quintara Cyntia Standifer (Monticello), Quinton Keith Standifer (Mary Spencer), Miami, Fl. and Quincy Keith Standifer (JaNay Honest) Santa Monica, Ca.
Besides spending time with his family, Bryan enjoyed fishing, golfing, cutting his grass on his zero turn, grilling steaks, and indulging in good cigars.
Bryan leaves to cherish, other than his loving wife and children, a beautiful granddaughter (Boobie Girl) who was truly the light of his life, Sevyn Smith; sisters Angela Standifer Benton (Gerald), Sharon Standifer Robinson (Gregory), both of Monticello, and Desonia Carter Sands (Gregory) of McDonough; a brother William Darnell Standifer also of Monticello; sisters-in-law Reverend Dr. Cynthia Jones of Hinesville and Ronnie Dumas of Oak Ridge, N.J. Extra special and impactful to Bryan were his nephew Dr. Alton Standifer (Brittany) Athens, Godson Jeremy Tripp, God-daughters Chantiel Clark and Jiaemiah Wise.
Bryan also leaves to cherish his memory, his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of people whose lives he touched and touched his in a major way. If Bryan was known to you, you know that Bryan was a kind soul with a smile as big as his father’s. Bryan will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
