Three Athletes Sign to Play
Last Friday, three Monticello athletes signed their name on the dotted line to continue their playing and academic careers at the collegiate level.
Senior baseball players Chandler Aguirre and Hunter Sorrows signed to continue their education at Emmanuel University located in Franklin Springs, while senior softball player Kyla King signed to play at Voorhees College in Denmark, S.C.
Sorrows and Aguirre were both three-year starters in the Hurricane baseball program, as an outfielder and catcher respectively.
King was a three-year starter in the Lady Hurricanes softball program, mainly playing in the outfield, but also getting some spot time at third base and in the circle her sophomore year.
All three of these student-athletes have been big parts of the Hurricane program, not only from an athletic standpoint, but from a leadership standpoint as well. We wish them well in their endeavors at the next level, and that they take some lessons learned from the fields of Monticello with them on their journey!
