Murder, and More

Albino Ramirez, also known as Sergio Gonzalez of Shady Dale is charged with Felony Murder, Malice Murder, Aggravated Assault, and theft by taking after allegedly shooting Rolando Torres Barranco in the head last Friday. Mr. Barranco has since died.
Mr. Ramirez allegedly shot Mr. Barranco, then stole a truck from a neighbor and fled. He was taken into custody Saturday night. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is investigating the incident, however, no one responded by press time Wednesday.
As a matter of fact, the GBI has yet to respond to a request made three weeks ago concerning a young man who died at the Jasper County Jail.
Noah Smith, 17, of Brooksville, Fla. had been indicted late last year, and was being held on charges of aggravated sodomy, distributing obscene material, sexual battery on a child under 16, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to his arrest report last October.
He died at the Jasper County Jail on February 2. No details are available, as the GBI has not responded to multiple calls for information.
