“It was a little different this year for our FBLA members because we were scheduled to host the Region 12 Conference/Competition in January but the snow forced us to go virtual,” according to Amy Scroggs, JCHS FBLA adviser and the Region 12 Adviser. “Even with the changes, we are so excited to have several students qualify for the state competitions this year. Our students worked hard to prepare for the conference and their scores showed it.” Local students who competed either took an online test or recorded their speeches and submitted them for judging.
“We are so proud of our students taking on the challenge of competing for us. They always make us proud,” Mrs. Scroggs said.
The state FBLA conference is set to be held in March at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Atlanta.
FBLA is the co-curricular organization in the Business, Management and Administration career cluster, which is part of the Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) program at JCHS. Mrs. Scroggs and Nash Bragg are the FBLA advisers.
