Cecil Loyd Dale
Cecil Loyd Dale, 82, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, February 8, 2025.
He was the son of the late Lewis Harry and Lillie Mae Dale. Cecil was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 47 years, Madelene Dale; his sister, Sue Lane Widmer; and his brothers, Johnny Dale and Larry Dale.
Throughout his life, Cecil worked as a millwright in the sawmill industry, where he honed his skills, including his passion for welding. A man of many talents, he loved working with his hands. He was also known for his beautiful vegetable and flower gardens, with roses being one of his favorite flowers. Music and dancing were among his other joys, and he fondly remembered the cruises he took and his recent trip to Colorado, a place he loved.
Cecil’s family was his greatest treasure. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Annette (Mark) Hegwood of Covington and Lynn (Dewey) Steverson of Monticello. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Michelle Bramlett, Bobby McCullum, Christy McCullum (Matt Pippin), Crystal (James) Stevens, Emily (Ruben) Ortiz, and Jessie Hegwood. Cecil was proud of his nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. His beloved partner of eight years, Elizabeth Lawson of Madison. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
A private burial will be held at a later date. The family requests that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
