Sue Collier Gorman

Sue Collier Gorman, age 81, of Monticello, passed away Friday, Jan. 3, 2025, at her residence.

Sue Gorman was born on April 6, 1943, in Golconda, Ill. to the late Gerald Nelson Collier and Vivian Bernice Weekly Collier.

Sue Gorman married J.D. Gorman on February 2, 1985. They lived in Illinois until moving to Georgia in 1988. After retirement, they moved to Jasper County in 1994.

Before retirement, she was a beautician and worked for Walmart in the Garden Center for a number of years.

Sue Gorman loved horses, especially as a young girl working with her grandmother’s horses in Illinois. She was an avid reader and played piano, banjo, accordion and the guitar by ear.

She is survived by her husband, J.D. Gorman of Monticello; daughters, Jennifer Osborn of Savannah and Julie Benefield (Buddy Graham) of Newborn; grandchildren, Jared Edwards, Nick (Brandi) Edwards, Chelsea Nabors, Gage Osborn, Bailey (Cameron) Lipps and Elijah Dalton; great-grandchildren, Brody Lipps, Delilah Lipps, Oliver Lipps, Kendell Edwards and Kaydence Cargile; sister, Geri “Toddie” Freymann of Rock Island, Ill.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, at their residence at 4755 Post Road, Monticello, Ga 31064.
