JCHS Beta Club Travels to Convention
On December 1, 28 Beta Club students left Jasper County to compete at the senior state Beta Club Convention held in Savannah, Ga.
Students arrived Sunday evening, ate some pizza, and then were ready to practice from show choir to robotics to marketing to speech. The next morning, practices began bright and early. Students were working hard to complete any last minute touch ups that needed to be done as well as practicing for different performances. Following all the hard work, students were able to eat lunch on River Street and explore Savannah.
That afternoon, students were off to convention. In the evening, Ian Sanders performed a compilation of rock songs on electric guitar. Also that night Living Literature competed by setting up a scene from Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
Tuesday was a huge day for competitions. Students competed in many visual arts categories, onsite cake decorating, marketing and communication, speech, service learning showcase, engineering, scrapbook, club trading pin, show choir, and robotics. Show choir performed an arrangement of Skyfall.
