Hurricane Wrestlers Excel at Smackdown

Jasper County High School Hurricane wrestlers had an excellent showing at the Smackdown in Mactown Wrestling event last week.

Brody Rice, a senior, placed first in the 120 pound weight class.

Owen Diaz, a senior, placed second in the 285 pound weight class.

Clayton McCrea, a junior, placed third in the 144 pound weight class. Daniel Urteaga, also a junior, placed third in the 165 pound weight class. The junior varsity squad and the girls varsity squad will compete in the East Metro Tournament at Monroe Area Friday and Saturday, Dec. 20-21.
