Many Sentenced in Superior Court

Jasper County Superior Court Judge Terry Massey reviewed several criminal and civil cases last week that yielded the following sentences.

Timothy Brian Strickland, sentenced to 15 years with the first 180 days in Jasper County jail suspended upon entry into a long term in-patient substance abuse treatment program for a minimum of six months for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug related objects. he was fined $2,000 and credited with time served from October 25 until November 12, 2024.

Brandon Rolf Peters, sentenced to 10 years with the first 120-180 days in a state probation detention center for aggravated stalking, criminal damage to property in the second degree, and harassing communications. He was also sentenced to 201 days in jail for violating his probation. He was fined $1,000 and credited with time served from April 25 until November 12, 2024.

Lebarron C. Farrar, sentenced to 189 days in jail suspended upon entry into and successful completion of a long term in-patient substance abuse treatment program for criminal trespass and theft by shoplifting.

Shirley Benton, sentenced to three years of probation for possession of cocaine, possession of drug related objects, and pedestrian under the influence. She was fined $1,000 and credited with time served from October 31 until November 12, 2024.

Probation revocations include:

Brian Walsh, probation revoked to 180 days in jail with credit for time served since November 6. Upon release he will enroll in and successfully complete the Matrix substance abuse program within 30 days of release for new charges including possession of methamphetamine, drug related objects and failure to wear seat belt. He also tested positive for meth and has failed to make court payments.

Windy Golden, probation revoked to six month long term in-patient treatment program for positive drug tests while in the substance abuse program.

Roland Beatty, probation revoked to time in jail and upon release shall enroll in a substance abuse aftercare services program within 30 days of release for a new arrrest and failure to enroll in aftercare.

Bond orders were ordered for Paul Kevin Johnson in the amount of $100,000 for trafficking in cocaine, illegal drugs, marijuana, and methamphetamine; Stephen Coyne in the amount of $100,000 for trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of drug related object; and Paul Jesse Eison in the amount of $50,000 for possession of methamphetamine and marijuana with intent to distribute and theft by taking.
