Tiebreaker Makes a Difference, Again

Last week’s football contest was a little tough, with no one getting more than 12 games right. But several people did get 12 right, so the tie-breaker came into play again.

Jennifer Jordan McDonald was the lucky winner as she had 12 right and also hit the tie-breaker, Monticello’s loss to Lamar County, on the head.

For her efforts Mrs. McDonald picked up a $25 prize from Gabrielle Pilcher at Dairy Queen, sponsor of the week.

Many people had confidence in the home team, and the Monticello Hurricanes have been phenomenal, but unfortunately they weren’t enough for Lamar County.

Mrs. McDonald’s husband, Scott, also plays, and he got 12 right, but was further off the tie-breaker than his wife.

This week, the McDonald’s and all other players get another chance at a $25 prize and for their names to be entered in the grand prize drawing for four premium tickets to the Chick-fil-A/Peach Bowl in Atlanta New Year’s Day.

If you haven’t played yet, it’s time to get started! The game is free to enter, and anyone can play…and win. Novice or veteran, try your luck. Just be sure to get your entry to The Monticello News office no later than 5 p.m. tomorrow, Nov. 8. Entries may be faxed to 706-468-6576, emailed to editor@themonticellonews.com or brought in person to 247 West Washington Street in downtown Monticello. We’re less than a block from the Square.
