Willie Frank Sanders, Jr.

A memorial celebration of life for Willie Frank Sanders, Jr., who died September 11, 2024, was held Tuesday, Sept. 17, at the chapel of Smith and Sons Funeral Home.

Mr. Sanders was born October 14, 1948 to the late Willie Frank Sanders, Sr., and Virginia Allison in Eatonton. He was educated in Shady Dale and the Jasper County public school system. He worked for Westbrook Cabinets for more than 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers and sisters, Milton “Buck” Sanders, Raymond Sanders and Willie Joe Sanders. Survivors include his loving wife, Elizabeth Thomas of Monticello; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Willie Norwood (Rhotonda), Marcus Thomas and Marquez Thomas; daughter, Shakilla Thomas; 17 grandchildren, sisters and brothers, Lynn Sanders, Sally Ann Sanders, J.D. Sanders, and Henry Ben Sanders (Felicia); also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Smith and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
