MKR Asks for Public Support

Monticello Kart Racing (MKR) has a request of all residents. MKR has planned a special day for a little boy who was mauled by three pit bulls a year ago.

His dream is to drive a go-kart, so it’s going to happen this Saturday, says the MKR announcement.

MKR is asking everyone to line up on the Square Saturday about 4 p.m. for an approximate 4:30 p.m. arrival of the young man who is coming from Augusta. MKR representatives are meeting the family in Shady Dale, and they want him to get a warm welcome when they reach Monticello.

MKR has put together a go-cart specifically for this child, and will donate it to him at the track on Saturday. The MKR track is just past the recreation department off Hwy. 212 on Ted Sauls Road.

MKR is hoping for a big crowd on the Square Saturday to welcome this young man and cheer him on. He has been through a lot since the dogs attacked him. He has had several surgeries, and has been bullied at school because of the way he looks after the dogs ripped 80 percent of his scalp off.

In addition, his father died soon after the accident.

Everyone is asked to tell their friends and neighbors, and let’s make a warm welcome for this child.
