Superior Court Sentences Listed
Judge Terry Massey presided over the Jasper Superior Court criminal session on July 16 with the following sentences handed down.
Michael Dexter Steffey, sentenced to 20 years with the first 180 days in Jasper County jail which was suspended upon entry into a state probation detention center for 180 days for criminal attempt to commit a felony and computer pornography. He was fined $2,000.
James R. Sadler, sentenced to five years with the first 117 days in the jail for burglary in the second degree. He was credited with time served from March 20, 2024 until July 16, 2024 and fined $500.
Keyonest R. Brown, sentenced to three years for burglary in the second degree. He was credited with time served from August 2, 2022 until July 15, 2024.
Susan Y. Tallent, sentenced to 26 months in jail for three counts of violating a family violence order, simple battery, and criminal trespass. She was credited with one month of time served.
Probation revocations included:
Gregory Morgan, probation revoked to 180 days in jail for changing address without permission. He was credited for time served since May 2024.
Charles Massey, probation revoked to 180 days in jail for positive drug tests and failure to report to probation office. He was credited with time served since June 2024.
Michael Jones, probation revoked to 120-180 days in the state probation detention center for positive drug tests, termination from the Matrix program, failure to pay court fines, and failure to turn himself in to local authorities.
Lebarron Farrar, sentenced to 120 days in jail for missing curfew, unknown new address, and failure to pay court fines. He was credited with time served since June 2024.
Otis Alexander, probation revoked to 30 days in jail for failure to provide correct address and failure to pay court fines. He was further ordered to attend any mental health treatment and take medications if prescribed.
Eddie Joe Camp was granted a $20,000 bond for one count of aggravated assault.
