Addie Kate Stone Brown died Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the age of 92.

She was born in Monticello on August 16, 1931. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Brown, Jr.; daughters, Judy Brown, Sherra Brown, and Selena Patterson; parents, Harvey and Eula Clyde Stone; six sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Spotts; grandchildren, Rachel Reich, Parker Spotts (Karen), Michelle Patterson, Robby Patterson; great-grandson, Tyler Henderson; sister, Bertha Stone Davis.
She graduated from Monticello High School in 1949. Following graduation she began her working career in Atlanta. She married Tom Brown and to this union two children were born, Donna Susan Brown Spotts and Judy Elaine Brown.
In 1967 Kate married Everett Brown and gained two daughters, Sherra and Selena Brown. Kate and Everett made their home in Conyers. They enjoyed traveling and building a home together. She retired from CDC of Atlanta.
Her life will be remembered as a woman who loved her family and friends, her community, her country, and her church in innumerable ways. The Lord always came first. She was a woman of fervent prayer. She was a member of Conyers First Methodist Church and of Maxwell Sunday school class. She sang in the chancel choir for many years.
Her outgoing personality and warm hugs made her a blessing to others as a Visiting Ambassador at her church and as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.
Her delicious peanut brittle was always a special treat to whomever had an opportunity to eat it. She was generous with her time and love.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 3 p.m. at Conyers First Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the church. Condolences may be submitted on-line at www.scotward.com.
