Joel Wayde Hill

Joel Wayde Hill, better known as Joey, passed away in Decatur at a personal care home on June 7, 2024.

He grew up in the Covington and Conyers area. Devoted Christian, he read his Bible every morning. He loved teaching Sunday School at Ebenezer United Methodist Church when he lived close to the church. Joey also loved watching wrestling, baseball and football and calling family to discuss the games afterwards.

Preceding him in death, his father Donald Hill, his brother Donnie Hill and his loving mother, Wilma Stephenson.

He leaves to cherish his memory his stepfather, Bill Stephenson, his brother Ryan Stephenson, nephew Will Stephenson, all of Conyers, and niece Allison Stephenson of Suwanee. He also leaves devoted girlfriend of eight years, Holly Sutcliffe and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

Memorial service was held on June 15, 2024, at his home church, Ebenezer United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 2533 Stanton Rd SE, Conyers, GA 30094.
