Challenger Defeats Incumbent Magistrate

Challenger Chrissy Pitts Mason defeated incumbent Chief Magistrate Tim Lam in a run-off election Tuesday.

Mrs. Mason received 956 votes to Mr. Lam’s 604. Some 1,560 persons voted which was a 13.58 percent.

Mr. Lam received 336 votes on election day, 219 with advance voting, and 49 absentee by mail.

Mrs. Pitts got 518 votes on election day compared to 403 in advance voting, and 35 absentee by mail.

Mr. Lam will continue to serve until his term expires at the end of year.
