Early Voting Begins Monday
Early voting for the June 18 runoff election for Chief Magistrate will take place next week, Monday, June 10 through Friday, June 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
The last day to request an absentee ballot for this election is tomorrow, June 7.
Incumbent Tim Lam is being challenged by Chrissy Mason. Mrs. Mason received 1,055 votes in the May non-partisan election to Mr. Lam’s 973 votes. Another challenger, John Henderson, received 268 votes. Therefore there is a run-off between Mr. Lam and Mrs. Mason. It is the only race on the ballot.
All polling places in Jasper County will be open on Tuesday, June 18, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Run-offs tend to have poor turnout. Jasper County voters who feel strongly about this seat should make sure to take time to vote.
