JCMS Track Team Wins PAC Title

The Jasper County Middle School (JCMS) Hurricane boys track team earned first place at the Piedmont Athletic Conference (PAC) League 2024 championship meet held March 28 in Lamar County.

The middle school squads are coached by Chris Owens, who also is the short sprints coach for the high school teams. Both the boys and girls teams competed in four scheduled regular season meets in preparation for the league championship meet.

The JCMS athletes for the 2023-24 season include the championship boys squad made up of Cam Franklin, Dan Cooksey, Drake Alexander, Hayden Shives, Jacob Smallwood, Jadyn Brown, James Watson, Jaxon Kelly, Jayce Stewart, Jeremiah Head, Jody Bardley, Kanaidis White, Keilynd Porter, Kelvin Clark, Kemaryon Whidby, Marco High, Sentrez Culp, Tristan Campbell, Zani Cole, and Zyron Epps.

The girls squad includes Jaxon Kelly, Jayce Stewart, Jeremiah Head, Jody Bardley, Kanaidis White, Keilynd Porter, Kelvin Clark, Kemaryon Whidby, Marco High, Sentrez Culp, Tristan Campbell, Zani Cole, and Zyron Epps.

The girls squad includes Cheyenne Hattaway, Chloe Lackey, Danyellie McCoy, Iyonna Campbell, Kaidan Cooksey, Kali Cope, Khayden Davis, Madison Miller, McKenya Miller, Megan Nichols, Molly Nichols, Sofia Urteaga-Marchenko, Suri Thompson, Taryn McCart, Terrija Bostic, Zaniya Cole, and Zanyla Jackson.
