Mrs. Martha Jo Kersey Whitley

A celebration for life for Mrs. Martha Jo Kersey Whitley will be held today, Oct. 5, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, 9595 Hwy 142, Newborn. Rev. Carl Reimold, pastor; Rev. Brandon Stanley, eulogist.

Martha Jo Whitley, 58, of Newborn, passed away September 30, 2023, at Rockdale Medical Center after a short battle with cancer.

She is the wife, of 41 years, to her loving and devoted husband Randall Whitley, Sr. She was born May 30, 1965.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Judy and Gary Sprayberry and Jerry Kersey.

Martha enjoyed reading and camping, she loved Angels and her family. She loved Dr. Pepper and fire cracker wraps. She was a colorful and unique soul; needless to say she will be missed.

She is also preceded in death by her little sister, Barbara Joyce Davis and her son, Randall Whitley II, as well as a son-in-law, Raymond Rush.

She is survived by her husband, Randall Whitley Sr., her daughters, Crystal Rush and Victoria Patton (Married to Jamie Patton), her grandchildren: Jason, David, and Lillie Rush of Newborn; Casey and Anthony Mcdonald, Charlotte Whitley of Covington; Clayton Whitley of Gadsden, Marlando Love and Khurtasia Goss of Covington; Savannah Caswell of Social Circle; and Stephen Norris of Mansfield. Daughters-in-law, Nikita McElroy (Married to Shawn McElroy) of Gadsden, and Courtney Stuarte of Covington. Her brother, Jerry Lee Kersey (Married to Jennifer Kersey). Sisters: Donna Beam (Larry) and Barbara Gibson (Tim). Sister in law, Samantha England (Dating Willie Porter). Josh Gravley (Dating Katie Norris). Several nieces and nephews and a tremendous amount of close friends.
