Johnny ‘Bay’ Whitlock

A celebration for life for Mr. Johnny “Bay” Whitlock was held Saturday, August 19, 2023 at South View Cemetery, Monticello. Rev. Melvin Whitlock officiated. He died August 13, 2023.
Johnny “Bay” Whitlock was born on June 21, 1943 to the late Gus Whitlock and Isabel Oliver. He was educated in the Jasper County Public School System. He worked as a cable supervisor for Asplundh.
Mr. Whitlock enjoyed fishing, farming (chicken and hogs), wrestling and horse shoes. His favorite meals included fish, barbecue and vanilla ice cream.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Alfreda Whitlock and Annette Whitlock; two sons, Johnny Whitlock, Jr. and Quentin Whitlock; sisters, Mary B. Whitlock, Betty Thurman, Ada Mae Thomas, Isabella Wade, Odessa Whitlock and Emma M. Wise; brothers, John H. Whitlock, Gus Whitlock, James Whitlock, Sam Whitlock and Thomas Whitlock.
Mr. Whitlock leaves to cherish his memories, daughters, Shalanda Whitlock of Gray, Denise Heard of Atlanta, NeKenzie Ware of Monticello, and LaKesha Clark of Griffin; son, Quincy Whitlock of Atlanta; 25 grandchildren, 29 great- grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
