Grand Jury Indicts Eighteen Persons

The August Term of the Jasper County Grand Jury reviewed 79 criminal indictments of 18 defendants when the jurors convened last week.

Twenty-three jurors, led by District Attorney T. Wright Barksdale, voted to true bill all the charges presented to them in Jasper Superior Court.

Alex Lam was true billed on 12 counts including six counts of serious injury by vehicle, three counts of driving under the influence (DUI), possession of drug related objects, possession of marijuana, and open container.

Timmy Lee Strange, Jr. was true billed on 12 counts including fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, theft by receiving stolen property, interference with government property, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug related objects, driving while license suspended, hit and run, reckless driving, two counts of improper passing, and two counts of failure to stop at stop sign.

Willie McGuire was true billed on nine counts including fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, driving while license suspended, failure to maintain lane, no tag, affixing of plate to conceal identity, failure to stop at stop sign, operating a vehicle without insurance, and open container.

Jimmie Lyndon Key was true billed on eight counts including aggravated child molestation and seven counts of child molestation.

Kelly Garret Ivey was true billed on six counts including cruelty to children in the first degree, cruelty to children in the second degree, trafficking of persons for sexual servitude, and three counts of criminal attempt to commit a felony.

Tony Davis was true billed on five counts including three counts of aggravated assault, aggravated stalking, and reckless conduct.

Mark Smith was true billed on five counts including two counts of fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer, DUI (per se), DUI (less safe), and speeding.

London Kent was true billed on four counts including aggravated assault, criminal damage to property in the second degree, criminal trespass, and possession of marijuana.

Charles Justin Grier was true billed on four counts including two counts of obstruction of an officer and two counts of DUI (less safe).

Anthony Harper was true billed on four counts including fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, driving while license suspended, possession of marijuana, and window tint violation.

Wayne Davis was true billed on three counts including trafficking methamphetamine, possession of drug related objects, and taillight violation.

Joshua Lee and Victoria Snow were both true billed on three counts including trafficking methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug related objects.

Tiffany Beam was true billed on three counts including obstruction of an officer, possession of drug related objects, and pedestrian under the influence.

Kelly Young was true billed on three counts including possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, transaction in controlled substances within 1,000 feet of real property owned by a school used for education, and possession of a schedule I controlled substance.

Quincy Lamar Horton was true billed on three counts including aggravated assault, possession of firearm during commission of a felony, and possession of firearm by convicted felon.

Charles Massey was true billed on two counts including obstruction of an officer and unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution.

Shawntavies Renfroe was true billed on two counts including aggravated assault and reckless conduct.

Emanuel Zion Jefferies was true billed for possession of firearm by first offender probationer.
