Charlie Tinsley Jr.

A celebration for life for Charlie Tinsley, Jr. was held Saturday, July 1, 2023 at
Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Monticello. Rev./Dr. Jimmy Horton., eulogist
Charlie Tinsley was born on February 13, 1941, to the late Jessie Mae Appling Tinsley and the late Charlie Tinsley, Sr.
Charlie was educated in the Jasper County public school system. He worked as a foreman with the Atlanta Gas Company. Charlie enjoyed working outdoors and cutting grass with his walk behind Toro mower. Watching professional wrestling was his past time. Mr. Tinsley was a frequent visitor at Golden Corral meeting friends and enjoying a meal. He enjoyed sitting on his porch watching airplanes fly by.
He died June 26, 2023.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lillie Grace Flourney Tinsley; daughter, Peggy Barnes; brothers, Marshall Tinsley and Dave Tinsley; and sister, Alberta Kelly.
Mr. Tinsley leaves cherished memories, his sons, Charlie Young Tinsley (Denise) of Rockmart, Derrick Jerome Tinsley (Chiquita) of Powder Springs, and Vincent Hutson of Dallas; brother, Willie Tinsley of Monticello; sisters, Ruthie Richards and Martha White both of Monticello. Also, 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a host of relatives and friends.
