Evan Newton Interns with News

The Monticello News has a new face in the building. Evan Newton has joined The Monticello News as an intern this summer. His main focus at The News will be revamping the digital media content, including a new and improved website later this summer.

Evan was born and raised in Monticello where he attended and graduated from Jasper County High School in 2019. He then attended Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, where he recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with a strategic focus in digital media production, as well as a minor in Rhetoric. Evan has a wide skillset in the world of communications with a background in film, radio, and podcasting.

He has previously worked with organizations such as Overtime, WGUR, as well as experience on working on a number of numerous independent film works.

If he looks familiar to you, you may also know him from his time at Monticello Drugs, where he worked for four years throughout his high school and college career. He also currently works at Ned Kelly’s Down Under as a bouncer in his spare time. We at The Monticello News /i>are excited to have him on as the newest member of our team!

Kathy Mudd, editor & publisher, said she is excited to have Evan on board. “His youth and vitality will surely energize the whole office, and we are excited to have him working on our electronic presence.” Look for Evan around town this summer.
