Man Arrested for Stabbing

Last Saturday, April 22 at approximately 8:09 p.m. deputies responded to a call for service that involved a person being stabbed in the area of Spruce Street in the city limits of Monticello.

Deputies arrived on scene at approximately 8:12 p.m. and located a victim with three apparent stab wounds. The suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of the deputies.

The victim was treated and turned over to Jasper County Emergency Medical Service, and transported for treatment.

After investigating the incident, Jesse James Gude, 56, of Monticello was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and Public Drunkenness. He was transported to the Jasper County Jail without further incident.

•Timmy Lee Strange, 39, Covington, who was involved in a chase with officers that led into Newton county. His charges include fleeing or attempting to elude a Police Officer, possession of a Methamphetamine, Aggravated Assault Against Law Enforcement Officer, Interference with Government Property, Passing in a No Passing Zone, Speeding, Reckless Driving, Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign (two counts), Passing in a No Passing Zone, Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects (two counts), Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, Driving while License Suspended or Revoked, Hit and Run; Duty of Driver to Stop at or Return to Scene of Accident

•Corey Sherell Barnes, 42, Flovilla—driving while unlicensed or expired license

•Qwaniesha Zhnae Sand, 29, Monticello—marijuana/possession less than an ounce

•Kenneth Anthony Thurman, 59, Monticello—public drunkenness, criminal trespass

•Larandy Steven Gotel, 41, Monticello: Probation Violation

•German De Jesus Figueroa, 57, Greenville, SC: Driving without a Valid License

•Bobby Ray Davis, 40, Trenton SC: Probation Violation

•Troy Lamar Sanford, 51, Milledgeville: Driving while License Suspended or Revoked

•Charles Matthew Jones, 42, Covington: 24 hour hold

•Vashon Leon Traylor, 34, Monticello: Probation Violation

•Deanthony Quarmaine Johnson, 25, Covington: Marijuana – Possession Less than 1 ounce

•Jessie James Gude Jr, 56, Monticello—aggravated assault, public drunkenness
