Mrs. Ruth E. Stewart
A celebration for life for Mrs. Ruth E. Stewart was held Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 262 Martin Lane, Shady Dale. Rev. Doctor Jimmy Horton, eulogist; Rev. Kerwin Scott, pastor. Mrs. Stewart died April 10, 2023.
Mrs. Ruth E. Stewart was born in Eatonton, January 13, 1928 to the parentage David Clemons and Annie Clemons.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James Henry Stewart; four brothers, David Clemons, Frank Clemons, John Clemons and Eddie Clemons; four sisters, Magnolia Martin, Annie Marks, Mattie Marks and Maude Fears; a son, James Edward Stewart and a grandson, Larry Fitzgerald Stewart, Jr.
She gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a devoted member of Reid’s Chapel Baptist Church in Eatonton. Ruth was educated in the Putnam school system.
Cooking, sewing, “being in charge,” helping others and spending time with family was enjoyable to her. Next to her “love of Jesus” the most important thing in her life was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Ruth leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters, Donna Meredith (Kenneth) of Powder Springs, Sharon Stewart of Riverdale, and Avidahn Buckner of Denver, Colo.; two sons, Larry Fitzgerald Stewart, Sr. (Johanna) of East Point, and Charles Edward Parks (Tojuajna) of Griffin. Also, seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
