Bonds Are Granted & Denied
Steven C. Tillman, age 18, was granted a $125,000 bond during the March 7 session of the Jasper Superior Court motion day session.
The defendant was charged with felony murder, voluntary manslaughter, and aggravated assault for the demise of his father, James Tillman, during a March 2022 confrontation. The defendant was indicted in February 2023 and reported to jail immediately.
In other bond news, Nikiel Mohorne was denied bond on charges of aggravated child molestation, child molestation, sodomy, and enticing a child for indecent purposes. Bond was denied on the basis of the defendant posing a significant threat or danger to another person and risk of intimidating witnesses, according to court documents.
Also, Gregory S. Walton was granted a $50,000 bond for homicide by vehicle in first degree, driving under the influence, failure to maintain lane, and no tag.
Sentencing for the March 7 session, under Judge Terry Massey, included the following;
Matthew C. Black, sentenced to six years of probation for sale of methamphetamine. Fined $2,000.
David D. Banks, Jr., sentenced to five years of probation for theft by taking. He was credited with time served since August 2022.
James K. Hicks, sentenced to one year of probation for possession of drug related object. Fined $400.
Joshua J. Knight, sentenced to one year of confinement for fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer. He was credited with time served since June 2021.
Theresa M. Bolliner, probation revoked to 90 days in Jasper County jail for failure to pay court fines, failure to complete substance abuse evaluation, and failure to provide new address.
Dawn J. Bulson, probation revoked to 60 days in jail for positive drug test and failure to complete substance abuse evaluation. She was ordered to complete an outpatient treatment program upon release.
Randall Hegwood, ordered to complete a six month long term in-patient treatment program for positive drug test, and breaking and entering.
Shannon L. Butler, ordered to complete a residential substance abuse treatment program for failing to complete treatment program, failing to complete community service hours, and failure to pay court fines.
