Mary Ann Douglas Shirley

Mary Ann Douglas Shirley, age 78, of Mansfield, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023, at her residence.

Mrs. Shirley was born in Tarpon Springs, Fla. on January 17, 1945 to the late Larkin Douglas and Nora Ann Sawyer Douglas. She lived in Florida until moving to Jasper County 60 years ago.

Mrs. Shirley was a member of Mansfield Baptist Church in Mansfield. She enjoyed reading and working in her flower garden. Before retirement, she was a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Retreat Nursing Home, Edgewood Assisted Living and Merryvale Assisted Living.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Hillard Shirley; brothers, Eddie Douglas and Bobby Douglas; and sisters, Evelyn Douglas and Joyce Johnson.

She is survived by her children, Dale (Lori) Shirley of Mansfield and Melissa Ann (Robert) Harbin of Monticello; grandchildren, Bryan (Aubrey) Shirley, Dylan (Dottie) Hedrick, Halley (Austin) Hendricks and Mikey Harbin; great-grandchildren, William Connor Shirley, Millie Wyatt Hendricks, Nora Mabel Hendricks and a great-granddaughter due in May; and sister, Carol Moody of Florida.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at Mansfield Baptist Church, 101 Woodlawn Road, Mansfield, Ga. 30055.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, at Jordan Funeral Home.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Mansfield Baptist Church, 101 Woodlawn Road, Mansfield, Ga. 30055.
