Hurricanes Cross Country Teams Compete at GHSA State Tourney

The Monticello Hurricane Cross Country teams competed in the GHSA State Championships for Class A, Division 1.

Over 350 boys and girls from across the state competed in this classification alone, with the Hurricanes sending a full complement of runners.

Overall, both the boy’s and girl’s teams finished 15th in state.

Freshman Colbie Ramsey also finished as a state placer for the girl’s team, finishing in 10th position overall at 21:12.99, just three seconds off of her own personal record on what is arguably the toughest course in the state.

Briana Dalton also finished in the top 50 for the girl’s team.

For the boys, Kemarion Thomas, Jamarkus Thomas, and Powell Goolsby all finished within the top 70 in the state to help the team to a respectable finish.
