PAC CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENDERS

The Middle School Hurricanes football team is into the Piedmont Athletic Conference league championship game that was scheduled for Wednesday.

The Canes (record 4-2), were to take on top seeded Carver (6-0) after defeating Morgan (5-1) last week. This week’s winner will be crowned the 2022 PAC Champions. In last week’s win over Morgan, assistant coach Jonathan Green said that the squad held the ball on offense for the entire first quarter and scored on a touchdown pass and two point conversion to start the second quarter. With the Canes up 8-0, Morgan scored in the second quarter and tied the game up 8-8 going into halftime. In the third quarter Morgan scored again and failed on their two point conversion to go up 14-8. Coach Green said the Canes got the ball back with 1:30 left on the clock in the third and drove the ball 70 yards for a touchdown. They scored on a run play from the three yard line and then made the two point conversion to regain the lead at 16-14 and the win.
