The championship game was held June 26th when the Lady Canes took on Perry. The girls played hard but lost 16-5 earning second place in the state tournament.

The girls made great plays with some of the most memorable ones including a double play made at first base by Charolette Koho with an out thrown to home where Abby Bowen got the second out to win the game. Also, Laney Thomaston was a beast at short stop with multiple outs while getting the ball and running two players down at home. Evelyn Fleming hit two in the park home runs and Alexa Barragan hit one. Stella Wilkerson got the game ball from the umpires for an amazing pop fly catch at second where she got the third out.

“To watch these girls play with the passion they have and never give up playing in temps of 100° for three days was the biggest win of all,” said their coach. “We are so proud of every player and parent who made the commitment to the all star team and led them to second place in the state! Way to go 7/8 All Star Lady Canes.”
