Drugs, Cash Are Seized in Traffic Stops
On Monday, July 18, a Jasper County Sheriff Office (JCSO) deputy initiated a traffic stop for speeding on a Black 2013 BMW in the area of Hwy 212 East.
After conducting a brief investigation with assistance from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, the driver was found to be in possession of 491 grams of THC Wax which is a Scheduled 1 Controlled Substance under the Violation of Georgia Controlled Substance Act (VGCSA). The estimated street value of the narcotics found is up to $30,000. Also located in the vehicle was over $49,000 in cash.
Albert Ronald Humphrey, 44, of Atlanta Beach, Fla., was charged with speeding, possession of marijuana less than one ounce, and possession of scheduled 1 drug with intent to distribute.
Previously, on Sunday, July 17, a JCSO deputies initiated a traffic stop for speeding on a Green 2010 Kia Soul in the area of Hwy. 212 West. After conducting a brief investigation, the driver was found to be in possession of a significant amount of suspected marijuana.
Derek Reaves, 46, of Covington, was charged with purchase/possession/mfg/dist/sale of marijuana, speeding, failure to maintain lane, open container of alcohol, possession/use of drug related objects/equipment, willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
Other persons booked into the Jasper County Jail in the last week include:
•Alexander Rutledge Lam, 20, Monticello—serious injury by vehicle, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, failure to maintain lane, possession and use of drug related objects, DUI – driving under the influence of alcohol under the age of 21, possession of open container.
• Hakeel Devonte Norwood, 29, Monticello—possession of methamphetamine, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, probation violation (two counts), willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, failure to stop for stop sign (three counts), speeding, failure to maintain lane (two counts), passing in a no passing zone, driving without a valid license, reckless driving, terroristic threats and acts.
•Labronge Antoine Loyal, 43, Conyers—possession of a schedule I controlled substance (two counts), possession of a schedule II controlled substance, fleeing or attempting to elude police officer, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, speeding, obstruction of law enforcement officer.
•Everitt Pierce Campbell, 18, Covington—possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, furnishing, purchasing, and possession of alcoholic beverages by persons below legal age.
• Angela Lynn Gatica, 44, Rome—probation violation.
Thomas Alton Christie, 48, Monroe—probation violation.
Jonathon Glen Williams, 38, Covington—theft by taking.
•Jacob Lee Thomas, 35, Grovetown—failure to maintain lane, DUI/driving under the influence of alcohol.
