One Sent To Prison, Two Get Jail Time
Jasper Superior Court held a criminal court session on May 24 under the jurisdiction of Ocmulgee Judicial Court Judge Amanda Petty.
Quantez Jackson was sentenced to 15 years in prison with six to serve with credit for the nine months currently served. He reached a negotiated plea for seven counts including two counts of possession of a schedule I controlled substance, possession of marijuana (less an ounce), obstruction of an officer, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of firearm by a convicted felon. Fined $1,500.
Sydney Lynn Brock, sentenced to three years with the first 240 days in Jasper County jail for possession of methamphetamine, driving under the influence, and improperly parked vehicle. Fined $1,000 and ordered to attend long-term in-patient substance abuse treatment program.
Zari Sahar Godfrey, sentenced to 79 days in jail for possession of drug related objects and possession of marijuana (less an ounce).
Mindy Jean Hawthorne, sentenced to three years of probation for possession of methamphetamine. Fine $1,000.
Deborah Marchell Poole, sentenced to one year of probation for possession of drugs not in original container. Fined $500.
Tyler Fetner, probation revoked to six days in jail and released to enter Newton County drug program for new offense of possession of drug related objects and controlled substance, failure to report to probation, failure to make payments, and failure to complete anger management.
Brett Michael Rosser, probation revoked to completion of the GDC Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Program suspended upon entry into a minimum six month long term inpatient treatment.
Bond orders were also issued for Ernest Redding for $15,000 and Ray Lester for $10,000.
