Piedmont Class of 2022 Graduates
Piedmont Academy held its 52nd commencement exercises Saturday for 28 graduates of the school, including 10 lifetime Cougars starting in kindergarten or before.
Those lifetime Cougars include James Brody Anderson, David James Bishop, Audrey Harris Brady, Ethan Michael Brewer, John Mark Hicks, Maggie Elizabeth Johnston, Isabelle Fleming Sealy, Hannah Marie Tyler, Madelyn Nicole Waddleton and Jayce Daniel Wood.
Other graduates included Landyn Scott Bates, Landon Michael Conner, Avery Rae Freeman, Kaivon Keontea George, Ryan James Holder, Mallory Ann Kelly, Ryan Adam Kennemore, Ella Linell King, Raleigh Ada Loftin, Emily Suzanne McClung, Gavin Britton Mask, Andrew Lanier Parish, Piper Ashton Potts, Ryan Alan Reeves, Jacob Wyland Richards, Mason Lee, Tanner Cole Ellis Wade, and Margaret MaLynne Webb.
Avery Rae Freeman opened the ceremonies, giving the invocation, and Headmaster Clint Welch welcomed everyone. Ella Linell King then gave the salutatory address. Following that Maggie Elizabeth Johnston presented a visual presentation of the graduates. Audrey Harris Brady followed with the valedictory address.
Landyn Scott Bates recognized the faculty before Headmaster Welch and Board Chair Tyler Wilkerson presented the diplomas. After diplomas were presented, Ryan Alan Reeves recognized the parents before Madelyn Nicole Waddleton offered special acknowledgements. Gavin Britton Mask, senior class president, led the tassel ceremony.
Martha Sammons and Clint Satterfield are senior class advisers.
The remainder of the Board of Trustees include Scott Faircloth, Scotty Dumas, Kim Meredith, Angie Thompson, Wade Stroud, and Drew Rebuelta.
