Benjamin Franklin LaVaughn
A celebration of life for Benjamin Franklin LaVaughn will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 11 a.m., at Community Cemetery, 544 Hwy 11 South, Agateville, Ga. 31038. Rev. Preston Campbell, eulogist.
Benjamin was born on May 30, 1934 to the late Magnolia Mercer and Willie George LaVaughn.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Joe Jordan LaVaughn; three brothers: Ulysses, George and Charles LaVaughn; six sisters: Willie Mae Rooks, Emma Lizzie Maddox, Estella Lawrence, Mattie Pearl Driskell, Leanne Pitts and Mary Bell.
Ben was educated in the Jasper County School System. His greatest passion was building dog houses and talking to anyone that would listen. He worked at Dexter Axle.
Ben leaves to cherish his memories, his daughter, Mary Elizabeth Sims (Arthur Lee); brother, Fred LaVaughn (Christine) of Hillsboro; sister, Naomi Carey (Benjamin) of Hillsboro; four grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Inez LaVaughn; brother-in-law, Eugene Lawrence, and a host of family and friends.
