Four Injured in Head-on Collision
Two vehicles collided head-on last Friday afternoon on Hwy. 83 just south of Clay Road.
At least four people were hospitalized as a result of the accident.
The report from the Georgia State Patrol was not ready, however, on Tuesday, but some information was available. The drivers were Salim Fazal of Suwanee who was driving a 2012 Lexus, and Brittany Durham of Americus, who was driving a 2020 Nissan Sentra.
The car traveling south apparently swerved because there was a downed tree in the road, and the other car was headed north. The two hit in the northbound lane, and traffic was stopped for some time…probably about two hours…until patients and vehicles were cleared.
