Cougar Basketball Athletes Are Honored

Both the Piedmont Academy boys and girls basketball teams had standout seasons in 2021-22 and those efforts have led to several players being honored.

Hannah Tyler, Maddie Waddleton, Teagan Satterfield, Kylee Keck and Marissa Holder were each named All-Region for the Lady Cougars. Waddleton and Holder were also named All-State.

For the boys, Brody Anderson, Ryan Holder, Bobby Buggs, Luke Welch and Spencer Carter were all All-Region. Holder was also All-State.

Both Piedmont teams went undefeated in region play. The Lady Cougars advanced to the GISA Class AA state championship game while the boys advanced to the state quarterfinals.

The girls are coached by Michael Wilson with Jimmy Link guiding the boys.

Waddleton and Tyler played in the All-Star game for the girls while Ryan Holder competed for the boys.
