Lady Cougars Work for New Soccer Season

The Piedmont Academy varsity girls soccer team has been busy preparing for its 2022 campaign.

New coach Mary Mclendon said the team has competed in two scrimmages against Lake Oconee Academy and George Walton Academy.

“I am really excited about this upcoming season,” the coach said. “We have a lot of new faces and have a lot to learn.”

The Lady Cougars have 14 players on the varsity roster including seniors Harris Brady, Mallory Kelly, Raleigh Lofton and MaLynne Webb. Emma Black is the lone junior.

Sophomores competing will be Ava Daniel, Lillian Dowdy, Hannah Foles, Ellie McCart and Hailey McGinnis. Freshmen include Sam Gray, Addison Jones, Gracie Kinard and Daylin Meadows.

Piedmont will play in a preseason tournament at Georgia Christian Academy February 25-26.
