Robert “Bob” Joseph Ericson
.A military service remembrance for Robert Joseph Ericson was held November 29 at the chapel of Smith and Sons Funeral Home in Monticello.
Mr. Ericson, 57, died November 17, 2021 at Piedmont Hospital due to cancer. He was born May 20, 1964 in Scranton, PA, son of Orlyn and Kyoto Helen (Kataoka) Ericson.
Robert graduated from Willingboro High School, class of 1982. At the age of 20, he enlisted in the United States Army and served active duty for six years fighting the “cold war.” After the military, he started Challengers Karate School in Blackwood, N.J. He was a third-degree black belt.
Robert was employed by Roehl Transport and worked over the road for two years. Later, he transferred to Conley, Ga. terminal and worked as an orientation manager.
He married the loves of his life, Michelle Welsh, and settled in Monticello in 2005. They celebrated 17 years of marriage in March.
Bob was a loyal member of the American Legion Post 110 in Monticello.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a brother, Allen and wife Janet, and nephew and niece, Blake and Jade of Kewaskum, Wisc. Also other relatives and friends.
Smith and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
