Christmas Season Kicks Off Here

The holiday season officially kicks off in Monticello this Saturday, Nov. 27, when the community celebrates Shop Small Saturday and residents can enjoy a Christmas parade and visit from Santa.

Merchants will be open all day, many with special sales (see ad, pages 10-11), and a Shop Small Saturday Market will feature Market on the Square vendors on the Square from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. A ML&J Toy Drive will be held from 3 to 5 p.m., and everyone is encouraged to bring a toy for those less fortunate. The parade begins at 5 p.m., and after Santa arrives, children are invited to visit with him.
