Jimmy Larry Griffith

Jimmy Larry Griffith, age 75, of Mansfield, passed away Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, at Piedmont Walton Hospital in Monroe.

Jimmy Griffith was born in Monroe to the late Robert Leon Griffith and Grace “George” Starnes Griffith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Melinda Gail Lynn Griffith; son, Chris Griffith; grandson, James Allen Smith; brother, Andrew Jackson Griffith, Sr. and sister, Sue Ann Griffith.

Jimmy loved to hunt, fish and his little “fur babies”. He loved spending time with his family and always reminded them to love thy neighbor. Before retirement, Jimmy worked as a machine operator for Beaver Manufacturing in Mansfield for 15 years.

He is survived by his daughters, Darlene Stapp (Tim Montgomery) of Newborn, Margaret (Tony) Smith of Monticello and Tanya (Clay) Elliott of Social Circle; grandchildren, Tiffany Smith, Brittany Stapp, Abby Stapp, Troy Barlow and Allen Smith; four great-grandchildren, Cameran, Will, Mason, and Avel; sisters, Ruby Smith of Winder, Elaine Day of Monroe and Charlotte Estes of Monroe; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, at Talmadge Cemetery in Monticello. Pastor Gary Day and Pastor Mike Farmer will officiate.

The family will receive friends from noon until 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, at Jordan Funeral Home.
