Ethel Lee Elliott Smallwood

Ethel Lee Elliott Smallwood, age 90, of Shady Dale, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021, at her residence.

Ethel Smallwood was born and raised in Shady Dale, to the late Charlie Walker Elliott, Sr. and Magnolia Rogers Elliott.

Ethel moved to Milledgeville in 1952 and married the late Robert Lee Smallwood on November 13, 1953. She retired from Central State Hospital in 1989 and returned to Shady Dale.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charlie Walker “C. W.” Elliott, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Smallwood of Shady Dale; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021, at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Shady Dale. Family members will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021, at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Providence Baptist Church, c/o Cemetery Fund, P. O. Box 15, Shady Dale, Ga. 31085.
