Rodeo Attracts Record Crowd

The Shady Dale Rodeo attracted record crowds Friday and Saturday nights in Shady Dale.

Cancelled last year because of COVID-19 concerns, the cowgirls and cowboys were ready to ride, and the crowd was anxious for the entertainment.

Earlier in the day, several horses carried flags along the parade route identifying the sponsors as well as the American flag and rodeo flag.

During the day Saturday, the Round Up Festival was held in the park at Shady Dale, with more than 20 vendors. Sponsored by the Shady Dale Community Club, the group sold out of many sizes of t-shirts, but there was food and arts and crafts to last throughout the day.

The rodeo featured several events for the cowgirls and cowboys, and the rodeo clown was a hit, as always.

Proceeds from the rodeo benefit several Masonic charities as well as local college scholarships.
