Senior Citizens Enjoy Outing

Persons who regularly attend the Jasper County Senior Center enjoyed an outing in Monticello Friday.

As part of Older Americans’ Month, the seniors enjoyed a program at the Visitors’ Center, and the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) then gave them Downtown Dollars to spend as they chose around town. They also had a Bingo game and scavenger hunt, before enjoying lunch at one of the restaurants on the Square.

During the program, the senior dance team performed, and various seniors held up posters encouraging those observing to develop good habits such as continuing to move, limit television, pray, don’t let life upset you, and other words of wisdom. Members of the DDA’s youth advisory council enjoyed the program then escorted the seniors around town.
