Christine ‘Chris’ Wagner Atkins

Christine “Chris” Wagner Atkins, age 80, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at her residence.

Chris Atkins was born on July 20, 1940, in Bainbridge, to the late Benjamin Franklin Wagner and Mae Rhodes Wagner. In addition to her parents, her husband, James Mathis Atkins; son, Phil Sparks, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Georgia Rae Buchannon; and brothers, Edward Love and Hubert Wagner preceded her in death.

Chris worked at Enterprise Aluminum in Eatonton. She loved her cats and gardening. She was an active member of the Monticello First United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and sister; and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Becky Greene of Macon; grandchildren, Ashley Fincher, Coleman Greene, Dylan Greene, Tiffany Suggs and Phillip Sparks, III; several great-grandchildren; and sister, Ann Phillips of McIntyre.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the Monticello First United Methodist Church. Interment will be held at West View Cemetery. Rev. Kara Wilson will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ernest Upshaw, Jonathan Cebada, Coleman Greene and Dylan Greene.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m., Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the Monticello First United Methodist Church.
