Peggy Sue Barr Ray

Peggy Sue Barr Ray, age 64, of Monticello, passed away Friday, May 14, 2021, at her residence.

Peggy Ray was born in Atlanta to the late Dora Helton Barr and Roy Lee Barr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Van Ray; and brother, Wayne Barr.

Peggy worked for a number of years at Monticello Manufacturing, Harris Sample Book, Inc. and The Retreat Nursing Home. She enjoyed cross-stitching, gardening, crafting and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Peggy was always the sweetest and kindest lady that always had a smile on her face.

She is survived by her sons, Todd Van Ray and Mark David (Ladell) Ray of Monticello; step-sons, Robert (Van) Ray of Jackson and Ted (Christy) Ray of Bremen; and grandchildren, Kamari Ray, Kiva Ray, Tristin Hutcheson, Nikki Hutcheson, Natalie Ray, Ansley Hutcheson and Caiden Hutcheson.

A graveside service was held Sunday, May 16, 2021, at Williams Payne Cemetery. Pastor Joe Ezzard officiated.
